Welcome to East Bay United’s recreational soccer program! Our U6 and U8 leagues use small-sided games to focus on developing soccer skills and having fun. There are no tryouts, evaluations, or previous experience required for these programs. The links below have all the information you’ll need to learn about these programs and register your child.

The U6 Micro Soccer Program is for players who will be attending kindergarten in the fall AND will turn 5 years old no later than September 1st.

The U8 Recreational Program is for players who will be 6 or 7 years old on September 1st of the fall season, OR for players who will be 5 on September 1st but will be in first grade in the fall (the U6 Micro Soccer Program is limited to kindergartners).

For players ages 8 through 17, see our Recreational Soccer U10-U18 Program.

Recreational soccer has two seasons, fall and spring. The fall season usually starts the weekend after Labor day and runs through the second weekend in November. The spring season usually starts the first weekend of April and runs through the first weekend of June.

In the U6 Micro Soccer Program, teams have one combined practice/game session each week during the season. The session is on a weekend day.

In the  the U8  Recreational Programs, teams have one practice per week and one game per week during the fall season. The games are on weekends and the practices are on weekdays. U8 teams have one game per week in the spring, but no practices. In place of practices, teams can attend our Recreational Soccer Academy sessions (see the U8 Recreational Program page for details).
